Two pop filters are preventing the strong gusts coming out of the bass reflex outlets of an Adam studio monitor placed in near field range from blowing into the sound technicians face. The advantage being that the level of bass reflexion is completely preserved and the air flow inside the monitor is left untouched.

For instance, the Pauly Pop filter is also popular with bass, drum or horn recordings to avoid overloading the microphones with too much wind and excessive sound pressure.
